Directions to Cromwell Valley CSA


Cromwell Valley CSA is located within Cromwell Valley Park, off Cromwell Bridge Road, on the far eastern outskirts of Towson.  To reach it, take the following steps:
  1. Take I-695 (from either direction) to exit 29-A “Cromwell Bridge Road.”

  2. Take a left off the exit ramp onto Cromwell Bridge Road and proceed a little over one mile, passing Loch Raven High School on the way.  Keep going until on your left you see a white split-rail fence, followed by a sign indicating “Cromwell Valley Park—Sherwood Farm.”  (Sherwood Farm is the name of one of the three gentleman farms donated to Baltimore County to comprise Cromwell Valley Park in the early 1990’s).

  3. Take a left into the park entrance and proceed over a small bridge (0.3 mile) and bear right immediately.

  4. If you are meeting the farmer for an interview, farm tour, or to perform member work hours, proceed up a small hill, around a left bend, and park your car where you see tall black plastic mesh deer fences on either side of the road (0.1 mile).

  5. If you are going to pick up your vegetables, proceed another 0.25 mile further, in the course of which you will bear right at the one-way sign, left at the next fork, then right into a parking lot.   You will then walk downhill past a large white barn and a small storage building with a breezeway until you come to a one-story building with wide sliding wooden doors and an old sign on its right side “Apple House” (<0.05 mile). This is where CVCSA produce is distributed.  Walk right in and follow directions.  There will generally be someone there to guide you.

  6. If you are going to a workshop or meeting, proceed to the same parking lot.     CSA-related workshops will generally take place or begin either in the Sherwood House (the stone mansion to your left, across the main parking lot) or in the farm staff residence, a white three-gabled house directly in front of you as you park.

  7. Some workshops, specific tasks, and special events such the Fall Harvest festival are held on the other side of the Park.  To reach this area, instead of turning in the Sherwood Farm entrance to Cromwell Valley Park, you will proceed another 0.6 miles on Cromwell Bridge Road until you reach the Willow Grove Farm entrance.  Turn left into this entrance,  cross a very small bridge (0.25) and proceed to the next parking lot on your left (< 0.1).  Farm staff or member volunteers will guide you to your next step.

  8. Specific directions will be given for other situations.
