| Each week, Cromwell Valley CSA members
receive a share of freshly picked, local, certified organic
vegetables. |
Our
Mission
The mission of the Cromwell Valley CSA is to serve and educate a
diverse community through small scale community supported
agriculture. Through the operation of our farm and related
educational activities, we demonstrate and promote organic food
production while providing fresh, local produce to our members. |

What is CSA
all about?
Community
Supported Agriculture means that members support farmers with pledges
of financial support before the growing season begins. They help
decide what is grown, how much will be planted, and, in return, they
are assured of safe, nutritious, fresh produce. Farmers are
freed from the burden of debt and return the rewards of their labors to
the shareholders. Members and farmers together enjoy the
bounty of good harvest years, and are involved as a team in working
through the unpredictable cycles of nature and weather.
The
Cromwell Valley CSA is a not for profit organization managed by a
volunteer Board of Directors. Our farmers live in the
beautiful park near Towson, surrounded by abundant wildlife and many
hiking trails. The land is protected from development by the
Maryland Environmental Trust. Picnic tables with sweeping
vistas
of fields and woodlands make it an ideal site for picnics
and nature walks.
How does it work?
Pick up your produce once a week at the CSA located in historic
Cromwell Valley Park. The growing season provides at least 24
weeks of organic vegtables, most picked and washed the same day you
arrive. Weigh and bag your own vegetables from baskets of the
week’s fresh harvest.
We ask that all members contribute hours working on the farm in some
way to learn and help with the farming - a working share.
Some
members split a share with a friend or neighbor! If
you
cannot find a way to help out at the farm, a non-working share is
available at an additional cost For current year costs and payment
schedules, download the
commitment form.
